Building & Grounds Commission

This commission works in partnership with the Finance Council on matters that involve the physical condition of the parish facility. Volunteers assist the parish staff with special events set-up and clean-up, routine maintenance, inspecting the property and upkeep of the grounds and buildings. Volunteers should have an interest and/or background in facility management, landscaping, custodial services, etc. Some of this work includes:

Special Project Work

Since moving into our new facility in the fall of 2002, many people have given of their time to ensure that our building is kept functioning and functional. Throughout the year, help is need to clean up the grounds, paint a fence, scrub a floor, put together a manger, or countless other tasks.  There are also opportunities to water inside/outside plants or to do gardening work. Volunteering for our Building and Grounds Special Project Work is your opportunity to share your time and talents with our parish. Be doing this, you return your gifts to God! The nice thing about special project work is that it usually has a beginning and end. You can give of your time, when you have it to give. If it doesn't fit into your schedule, you don't have to get involved. We welcome all to become a part of our Building and Grounds efforts. In addition to sharing your gifts, we guarantee you will have fun and make new friends!

Volunteer Housekeeping

St. Paul the Apostle is proud of our church facility, which is now over 18 years old! Because our parish is such a busy, active place, it needs constant attention to keep it looking its best. Volunteer housekeepers are always welcome! We have volunteers who clean the holy water font on a weekly basis, some who vacuum carpets in preparation for our weekend liturgies and some who like to clean. We have lots of windows to wash, beautiful wood to dust and a kitchen that needs sprucing up. We could also use help ensuring the Atar area is clean and wood altar, lecterns, etc. are cared for. If you are interested in helping out with volunteer housekeeping, we welcome you to spend an hour a week or a month cleaning a specific area or just helping when needed. Please contact the Parish Office to learn more.
