The Year of St. Joseph

Year of Saint Joseph: December 8, 2020- December 8, 2021

Pope Francis acknowledges the 150th anniversary of “the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church” by making this year the year of Saint Joseph. He has written an Apostolic Letter: “Patris corde” or in English: With a Father’s Heart to help heal and empower the world. Below are some links to more information about this year’s focus. One important item is that on the 19th of every month we should be praying to St. Joseph and looking at how God our Father can help us during this year.

Prayer to St. Joseph

St. Joseph you did not flee from difficulties nor responsibilities. You used your faith, gifts and talents to protect, provide for and comfort Mary and Jesus. Your heart filled with love as only a father can have, guided you as you listened to God’s messengers to do the work God had intended for you. Help me to be like you, love like you and use my gifts and talents to help Mary, Jesus and the church to protect God’s children and following God’s ways. Amen.
